The University of Manchester is planning to build an innovation district which includes a technology and science hub. The site is planned over 26 acres and will be situated near the North Campus of the university.
Originally the University tabled plans at the MIPIM property show which outlined their desire to offer mostly workspaces along with 1.2 hectares of public space.
The University needs the right development partner by utilising their worldwide reach of commercial partners and research institutions.
The current site has a wide array of green spaces and the Grade II listed Sackville Street Building which can be renovated and provides 649,000+ square feed of space.
The university is inviting prospective partners from all over the world.
The current process will most likely require around 12 months of time and their development partner announcement should be made later in 2020.
Once a development partner is selected, the initial development work could start as early as 2022.
